and ever ready to go! CCSS called & I'm up for an interview this Fri@3pm! I'm thankful & excited! Got the call while out playing baddy with some UNC exchange old-chums haha! Our fifth-some is back from the States & LaoDa Clement organized a badminton/bbq eat-in/bridge game @ his place.
Loved the fellowship, missed it a lot rather.. haha! It's always great to catch up with the 'long time no see' friends you've come to know through various events in your life. Ok trying not to make this post sound emo sentimental so!
Was reading a few articles from ChristianityToday online & the one about 'Faking Church' got to me. It's like ouch, ok, reality check.
Acts 5 - Ananias & Sapphira. Ok they were severely dealt with in the end but bottom line, it made me reflect & think over what my motivations were to serve & I'm so glad I did. The writer's right in saying that this deception, of wrong motivations, creeps in slowly & subtly. Majority of the time we fail to realize it. He quotes A.W. Tozer,
"Many a solo is sung to show off; many a sermon is preached as an exhibition of talent; many a church is founded as a slap to some other church. Even missionary activity may become competitive, and soul winning may degenerate into [something] to satisfy the flesh."
Lord, thank you for Your Spirit's prompting & conviction. Help me to not repeat the story of Ananias & Sapphira in my walk with You but instead draw me back to the foot of the Cross daily to return the glory You solely deserve.
